BuiltWith MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides tools for querying the BuiltWith API to get information about website technology stacks. This server can be used with any AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol.

Features

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18 or higher
  • A BuiltWith API key (get one at BuiltWith API)

Installation

1. Clone this repository:

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

> Note: The MCP SDK is installed directly from GitHub. If you encounter any issues, you may need to update the dependency in package.json to point to the correct repository or version.

3. Build the project:

npm run build

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with the MCP SDK dependency:

1. Check if the MCP SDK is available in the npm registry:

npm view @modelcontextprotocol/sdk

2. If not available, the package.json is configured to use the GitHub repository. If this fails, you may need to:

    Configuration
